RE: Quarterscale ProMod Rear-End
Thanks guys. I'm going with a spool for this one. I may eventually machine an actuall diff..
Yeah mudgy I did make a sheet metal one a few years ago.. It was made from 1/8" steel and weighed a ton and wasn't precise at all.. This one is very precise I have about 0.0003 tolerance and that's just because I got about 0.0001 backlash on X&Y I got backlash compensate dialed in in mach3 but I'm still out 0.0001 no biggie..

Thanks.. Yeah this fabricated Rearend should make the Beretta look like its all business from the rear view.. That one you built looks pretty cool man.. The other one I built wasn't actually made from thin sheet metal. It was built from 1/8" steel,, I attached a few pics of both..

RE: Quarterscale ProMod Rear-End
I recently purchased some decent shocks for the Beretta. The shorter ones which I'll use on the rear are
Ready to be bolted on.. Once I get the Rearend done. The longer ones I'll use as struts on the front, I'm going to
Remove the lower spring and machine a sleeve that will secure the spindle and brake caliper mounting bracket.

RE: Quarterscale ProMod Rear-End
Hey all, it's been a bit since my last post. Well I recently replaced the Z-axis thrush bearing on the mill and have yet had the time to drill/tap the timing pully mount. Will be here soon. However. I do now have the majority of the beretta components and all the electronics. Picked up a turnigy 9XR radio, 4-1/4 scale steel geared servos, fail safe, RX module, battery's & chargers. Lights. 4 wheel hydraulic disc brakes. With two master cylinders. One for the front, which will lock up the fronts for burnouts. And one for the rears. The primary brake.im currently re-designing the front upper strut mounts and struts.

Very nice! I am becoming more and more infatuated with these large scale projects. I am particularly interested in the metal beretta body. Do you have thread on the construction of that?

Thanks. I have a few videos on it on my YouTube channel. Can't post link here from the iPhone but you can just search QSPSB on YouTube and that'll work!

So how's the rest of it coming along? You must be pretty close to paint now?
