Default question about the cv drive booties on the Baja 5b

Are the cv drive booties a neccessity for the drive axles on the baja 5b. Mine are already tearing after the first run. I noticed a little bit of of grease leaking from one. So can I run okay without them or do need I need to replace them in order to run. I am kind of disappointed they tore so easily.

Thanks for your imput.

Don't know with the 5B, but my FG and many other large scale-cars are driving without boots and are still going strong. If you choose to go without them, make sure to remove all of the grease and make them totally dry, or else will the rest of the grease mixed with sand act as a polish paste and wear them out too soon.

Some people run without them ...but most do use them. For the prices > hostile boots is what u need.

But if you want the best., HEMISTORM!
I will never go back to regular boots

If youre running with dogbones, it will work just fine without boots.
But if youre running balldrive, then do not run without boots. The balldrive will wear extremly fast!
