Was gone for a long time, 5th scale brought me back.

Hello all. Like the title says, I have been gone for quite some time. Last time I was on RCU I still had my Jato, an RC10 GT, Savage X 4.6, and an old RS4 2. Ended up selling the RC10 GT, then the RS4 2. Then about a year later sold the Savage. Then a few months after that sold the Jato, but I bought a Baja 5b and instantly fell in love with 5th scale. Fast forward to today (2yrsarcasm after I got the Baja) and my wife surprised me the Losi DBXL. Almost had a heart attack. When it came to my 10th scale and 8th scale cars I was pretty knowledgeable. I offered help and advise when ever possible. I have been learning as a I go along with the Baja but the DBXL looks like a totally different animal. I remember RCU being a great community and I hope it still is. Any advise you guys have on these machines would be greatly appreciated.

I like you have been on a pretty long hiatus. What brings me back is seeing the Kraken Vekta .5.
Don't let the difference intimidate you, its all the same just bigger and maybe a slight change in how its laid out. I'd take some time to go through it. Or run it and when it breaks is a good time to check things out haha, cant tell you how many times that's happened.

Welcome back, nice addition to the fleet.
The DBXL has a lot of parts support, check DDM for deal of the day.

Thanks guys. Been checking out DDM and a few other sites as well. Getting ready to tear down the Baja for a proper cleaning. Fingers crossed. Uncharted territory for me. Maybe I will post pics. We shall see.

Don't even think about it, just tear it down and enjoy it, hahaha.

Good luck, lookin forward to hearing how it goes

When taking it apart classify the bolts in small zip lock bags and label w sharpie. I sometimes use a stapler to divide the bag by sections. It will be well worth it. Place items in different bowls/boxes to split the teardown by sections.
Good luck

Just a quick pic of my RC's. The Baja was torn down and cleaned. Currently it's turned into a Hot Wheels themed project. More pics to come soon on a separate post.
