Rear brakes
If monet was not an issue what rear brakes would you suggest?
Matching KP MK3s,(I already have these on the front)
Hellya specials
, fg(which version)
or would you stick to cables?
Do hydros on the rear have problems?
I have removed the stock gear eater brake, to frustrating to reinstall after installing the alloy gear plate. I wnted to do a poll but they don't seem to get much attention on this board.

RE: Rear brakes
Go with hellya's brakes. I have a set on my marder race and they are great quality at a price you can not beat. Plus way easier to set up then cable, equal breaking, etc....

RE: Rear brakes
I have the Mk 3 Hydros for both the front and rear (just got them today). I must say, the quality on these brakes are superb! I also got the matching alloy radio plate which has special mounts for two hydros, servos and radio box. Simply wonderful.
On top of that, got an alloy gear plate and removed the stock brake. So I'm gonna run nothing but hydros in this baby!
I'll give you a report when I get them set up and tested. But by the mere looks of it, KPD does some great brakes.

RE: Rear brakes
The plate looks basically like the picture with a few exceptions.
1) It is black anodized rather than silver.
2) it has slots to accomodate one Hitec/Multiplex steering servo and two standard sized servos.
But, take my word, it is very high quality and it has a crap load of parts, especially to mount the servos, the plate to the chassis, and to relocate the radio box between the two hydros (see pics).
Note the plate is longer than stock, and it allows the battery to sit more secure underneath. I never liked the vertical position of the battery.

RE: Rear brakes
That seals it! One more set of mk3s and that awesome plate. I spent 4 hours drilling, tapping and shimming to get the fronts almost correct with no hope or room for the rear. Brilliant!
Vernon hate to say it but Monster Ideas has nothing on these people. Just look at the options:[link=http://www.kp-designs.co.uk/radio_plate.html]Click here[/link]

RE: Rear brakes
Sorry, Misunderstood your question. The Radio Plate is made for any FG Marder based vehicle (MT, MB, Marder, etc.). The only difference in the plates are that they are each customized for certain types of servos (Hitec, Futaba, etc.) and if you want one or two steering servos.

RE: Rear brakes
kirkieboy, that first pic you posted showing the alloy radio plate fitted to a Marder....are you sure it will fit the MT?
The MT has the extra roll cage supports going straight over the radio tray to the front shock tower right where the master cylinders sit....they look to be in the way?

RE: Rear brakes
Talking of RC plates, anyone sells affordable replacement alu for Marder and Leopard? Especially for the Marder it seems to flex alot more since it's only supported by three posts.

RE: Rear brakes
I have not fitted the radio tray to my MT as yet (haven't had the time). However, I contacted KCR, KPD and FGPerformanceRc and they all have told me that it works fine with the MT. In fact, King Cobra has said that they have sold many of these plates to MT customers and they all work.
When I get it fitted I will try to get a camera and post some pics.
