Careful here..... The other HPI Baja thread got locked and it all started with some sarcasm if I remember correctly. Lets keep this one on the technical aspect, not so much critical. It is a new 1/5 scale..... That alone makes me happy, not to mention that HPI make some awesome durable nitros. I'd definitely like to check one out once they are released. Maybe even buy on to add to my growing collection.

I'm on the Tower List. Looks good so far,a nd should be fully supported by HPI distributors and shops. Then the Hop-ups will start coming.

A Viscous Torque Control Differential can be tuned by using different diff oils
better design radio box than fg, half decent rx batterys.
bead lock rims

I pray the wheel hub size will be the same as FG and Harm. I have some nice wheels that will fit that buggy!!!!

It looks like the hubs are going to be like buggy hubs. Large hole through with extra large nut.

I agree. If only HPI had designed it to comply with existing 1/6 race rules.

As it stands, at $915 (Tower) it's a superior design to the Firehammer, for $15 more.

But it's a basher versus the Firehammer, which can be raced. Pity.

HPI is making a big push for visibility in the competitive arena. Why not extend that philosophy to new products?

whats with comply to existing rules, rules are made by a club or organization.everyplace I know of would just say if we have 3 show up we'll have a class and race. and it goes on from there. we make a big deal out of nothing.

how can you defend a model that aint even released - yes its shiny and has pretty colours, but it needs to handle well, have parts readily available & support, have good option parts ect - no one knows the facts of this model yet,and if i remember correct before the mods locked the last hpi thread - you slagged fg off saying they were weak amongst other things - yet you dont own any large scale of any make.buy - try then comment.

Its good to see new products come to market in the large scale arena, that means manufacturers see promise in this segment of RC, and it can only serve to help the hobby overall.
