Default Firehammer problem

Hey guys i am hoping that somebody can help me out beccause i am having a problem with my firehammer. When i hit the throttle the vehicle barely moves and there is a kind of grinding noise but when i lift the vehicle off the ground and apply the throttle the wheels light up nicely and there is no noise. One thing i should mention and that is i have been having this prolem since i hit the curb head on but i was not going that fast.[:@]
Any help will be greatly appreciated. [8D]

I wish the mods would make a sticky on this.
Check your motor mount screws, the transmission brace screws, and the mesh between he gears.
Make the adjustments to ensure proper mesh.
Tighten eveything down and then remove one screw at a time and apply a drop of Super glue to the threads and tighten down, doing all screws one at a time.
If money is there get the alloy motor mounts for the Firehammer, not FG. (FG hopups is a great place to find them.)

Also check your wheel hexes and make sure they are tight from time to time (Lock tight.)

Check ALL gear mesh, see how the align. Sometimes when your under no load, the parts dont flex. When you hit the throttle parts begin to flex and even 1mm can make a problem.

Make sure you take a GOOD LOOK at your wheel Squares, I know for mine I couldnt budge the square and I thought it was tight, but of course the engine has a ton more torque then my hands do.

Dont get frustrated, its a simple problem no matter what it is.. Just spend some cash, and problem fixed..lol..jk..well kinda jk

I never broke the mounts just the tabs on the large mount that are on the clutch housing.
The stock plastic ones will some day strip and become a bother, go alloy on the mounts.

ive had a plastic mount break at the point where the bearing sits for the layshaft, and when looking around you could not notice, but soon as u would want to go, the layshaft gear would just skip across the diff gear, it would go still but make a noise and took a while to figure it out.

so have a GOOD look.

Well i checked the vehicle today and the motor mounts are intact and the mesh
between ring gear and layshaft gear seem to be ok but i noticed that the plastic
that rests underneath the ring gear is stripping and it seems to me that the gear
does not sit flush on it. Can this be my problem or should i pull out diff and
examine gears ? []

Well i would like to start by thanking those who responded to this post.
It seems that the problem is when the engine is spooling up
the mounts shift and pushes the layshaft gear closer to the main diff
gear hence the grinding noise. I guess the addition of the Jetpro pipe really
did wake up the engine too much.
The solution : i ordered the alloy motor mounts from FG-hopups.com
and this should keep the engine stable.[8D]

[sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif] ....either press the old bearing out of the stock large mount or buy a new 1
