O'neill Brothers 30.5CC upgrade kit
Alright my package arrived from O'Neill Brothers today!! I'll be upgrading my 26cc to a 30.5cc kit. Any quick tips before I strat the process? I've worked on nitro engines but only got as far as the carbs on the gas ones. The clutch will be easy but not sure about the fanwheel on the other side.
I'll keep you posted on the progress

use some of your 2 cycle oil with putting your piston and ring in the cylinder. dont by shy, its only 2 cycle oil and will burn out quickly.

Thanks for the tips guys. I plan to tear out my engine and start on it shortly, after helping the wife with Christmas lights.

RE: O'neill Brothers 30.5CC upgrade kit
Well the 30.5 cc kit is installed and ready to go. I fired it up after some adjustments to the carb and let it idle for a bit. I could feel the torque coming out eventhough it was on my stand. When I tried it on the pavement the wheels spun more that usual but it was getting late so I couldn't drive it to much longer.
The kit went together great and comes with everything you need to do the switch. If it's you're first kit make sure you don't miss anything. The first time I missed one of the carb gaskets and some gas leaked a bit. Sean was right there if I had any questions and he was tons of help! I had my laptop in the garage and stayed on line just in case. He even called me all the way up here in Canada!! That's what I call great customer service! The weathers not the greatest right now and I hope to go through a few tanks on Monday when I'm off.
Once the engine settles I'll use the GPS to see what kind of top speed I can get with my 2-speed!

RE: O'neill Brothers 30.5CC upgrade kit
Well I had it out today. Ran about 1/2 tank in a park around the corner for a good 20 minutes or so. Since I was breaking it in I had to take it easy as much as I wanted to let it rip. The kit I have was also race ported and it truley shows! Great work Sean!
After some lunch and a new mix of fuel I was ready to go out again. This time I went to an open field. It ran for a good 50 minutes non-stop!! The torque coming out of the engine was un-real! The rear wheels spun so much at just 1/4 throttle!! With the 2 speed I didn't even need to past 1/2 throttle. I've never seen so much power come out of this engine before. I can't wait to get a few more tanks through it. But it will take some time!! It just started to snow tonight so I hope it melts by Wednesday so I can take it out again.
I you want more torque in your machine I'd highly recommend the 30.5CC kit fom O'Neill Brothers. If you want a little extra the race porting gives it a nice punch too.

RE: O'neill Brothers 30.5CC upgrade kit
Well I had it out yesterday again and I'm very happy with it. I ran it for about 30 minutes with no problems. Started on the 3rd pull and kept going all that time. I still haven't adjusted the H needle since I'm running it up to mid throttle but with the 2-speed it goes pretty good. The new spiked tires work great, I may just have to stud the old tires and see what it does on the grass!! The weather has been so mild here so I'm taking advantage of it as much as I can but the dam rain gets in the way!

Thanks! I also found that having the needles open more helped start it up since it was a higher CC engine. I'm just wondering if having a higher octane gas would be a better choice now. What do you guys think?

if your useing regular unleaded, you ll see a slight improvement with Premium, but if you were to go with a race fuel. like 103, you ll be likeing it, its not the fact its higher octane, its the fact is purer fuel thats the differance..

Thanks for the info. I take a look around and see what I can find. I think SUNOCO has 91. I may check some performance places too.
