They make the 5T in a kit version?
Where did you order yours from?

Well its simple Keith,

There's still no KM1000 as they call their 5T Truck so the only option for a cheap one is easy.
Rovan looks pretty nice...how do i know? i have two kitt versions here...

Hey guys, I'm really new to this hobby. My dad just bought me a King Motors Baja It's the KSRC-001. I read through the first part of the thread but I couldn't find anything about my question. This might be because it's a later version but my Baja has orange alloy and purple alloy. I'm just wondering if this is the same thing as what you guys have or if it is updated.

I really do not know what is new or not from the color scheme, mine is mostly chrome and black.   I can tell you the KM Baja is not perfect, but is a lot better than what the HPI baja owners let on.

My advise is simply to apply your hobby skills, which you should have before getting a model like this, set it up as best as you can then have fun.   Expect some things to go wrong, fix them.  Pretty soon you will  find out the KM is actually well made (for the most part) and is fun.    All of the Baja's are very expensive over time.  You will end up spending a lot more money than any 1/8 scale nitro truck or truggy.

The money you save using gasoline over nitro seems like it would be a lot, but it is nothing compared to replacment parts and upgrades.   It is easy to get carried away and spend thousands of dollars on a baja if you want all the greatest aftermarket parts.  Then when you crash around and break parts, it gets really expensive.   So, just have fun with the KM and use it as you can afford.  It is not as good as a real HPI baja, but not nearly as bad as the HPI fans say.   I got a lot of good use from the stock engine, and upgraded it just for the fun of it when it was not necessary.

I have a local hobby store that also sell RC car parts so I may be spending more then I want to on this thing haha. I'm going to burn it in tomorrow, hopefully I won't have any major problems.

You really should not have any major problems, but don't be suprised with a few minor problems.

I went out to burn it in today and it ran really well for what I know about RCs. What do you recommend to do to clean the Baja afterwards. It's just got a lot of dirt and grass in the cracks and whatnot. I'll have some pictures up of the weird colours my Baja came in.

For cleaning I would recommend nitro cleaner and compressed air. And a tad bit of wd40 to polish her up after. The wd40 will attract a dirt though. Also "gunk engine degresser" works great to get rid of stuff stuck to your engine.
This is my baja in the photo...

I don't know if you know this or not but you can remove the exhaust end for more power and it will be louder. Don't know if you knew that or not.

Hi there!

Is your radio good? I had to bin mine and get a Futaba 2PL, as my stock radio kept sending out a full throttle signal.
Also, if it hasn't already got one, buy a failsafe. It will save you a fortune if it goes out of control or range!

Thanks for the help guys! Looks like i'll have to pick up some supplies. It's running great right now. It could use a little tuning, but nothing seems to be broken and everything is fine.

I forgot to mention that I have another muffler for it. I think it is a clone of the dominator pipe. I don't know how loud it will be but hopefully it won't piss off the neighbours.

Ya I tested the range and I can get around 180 meters. But the radio is fine for now. I was thinking about getting a fail safe, i'll check it out at my local hobby store.

That clone dominator pipe is simply fabulous with your engine.   It will act like there is 50% more power.

Also;   You WILL piss off the neighbors.

Keith, KM said that they would have their KM1000 ready on the 10th of June.
Now there's no date told by KM.....so now the only company thas has a 5T is Rovan
As you probable know my friends have 2 of these Baja Terminators and reviews will come very soon..
