I would buy the clone...I have 2 of them...I would also buy the Baja SS ...I did

I saved $350 over HPI............I would say its up to the individual......The baja5 is 3 years on the market going on 4......HPI has recouped their R& D many times over by now ( they did after the first year of sales). No patent is on this product

I know the die hard HPI Baja5 fans dont like them....Thats like die hard FG fans didnt like smartech or duratrax 1/5 vehicles...... but all the vehicles are still in the playfeild... they are not going away

I agree with you hellya. My cut of point would probably be to save $250 + anything less than that I would get the original just because I would not want to get the imitation to save $150-$200.

I would love to see (and hear) a video of the clone in action with close ups.

I'm leaning towards one, unless they sell for more than I'm whiling to pay like I said. The thing is that I can only receive from the USPS, so I would have to make sure the seller can use that in my case.

I seriously thinking that we here at RCUniverse have jacked up the selling prices of those clones at least in eBay [:@] So we are our own enemy on this topic

I'll have to wait until the hip goes down a little or put a bid and get lucky.

Its to premature to state the durability of the clones....but when and if any part breaks atleast I can go to towers and get parts cheap

I will be making some vidos of the clones in action......... with and without tunedpipes

All right guys, there are several videos out there of the Baja clones. They're NOT close up so basically they look like a regular HPI Baja and I think they even sound like one

[link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STETdpcHlHM]Baja clone 1[/link]

[link=http://Baja clone 2]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFO1S8HG6nI&feature=related[/link]

[link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAc3cV_NNiw&feature=related]HPI Baja vs clone[/link]

...and I'm sure there are more.

Dude, all of the clone auctions are going for $550 shipped, vs the $900 you quoted for the real deal. I think for that price its worth it to try. That one auction posted went for $500 shipped.
