Default Baja Skunkworks Super Twin Baja

Don't know if you guys have seen this yet. We showcased this at RCX. This was one of our many projects that we have on the list of to-do's. Our motivation behind this project was that we wanted to get more power into the car and make it a six wheeler for stability. This is what we came up with. Even though it is longer at about 42" we machined custom zero-degree-toe shims for the mid wheels and only lost about 10% to 15% steering radius. THe current repeatable top speed for this car is 56 mph. This was with two untuned 26's and the TGN X-cans. We feel that there is much more in her. This has also been one of the most enjoyable RC's that I have ever driven. We can't wait to get her out to the big dunes.

Here are some links to pics and videos from RCX

Here are some pics taken by Ted from DarkSoul Racing. He is one of the co-creators of this car and did the final build for the show.

Here a link to an old video from the first test run several months ago. On the asphalt one of the engines wasn't working too well. The filter was clogged so it would bog at full throttle. On the grass we had paddles and the grass was wet. This was the perfect combination for drifting. I have some other footage from the beach that I have to sort through but this should hold you over for now.

Here is a video that I threw together from the beach. I also threw in some misc pictures showing the history of this car. Thanks to Eddy from Team Fast Eddy and Dave from Turtle Racing for the pictures. Enjoy.

Wow thats wicked cool! Almost looks like a german half track without the track...

the rollcage looks awesome and the look of the vehicle as is without a bodyshell looks spot on.

Does that thing go, a couple of good pipes and it'll be nuts! extra cool points if you can mount a couple of powder coat black side mount DOM's on it.

They are both the CY 26cc engines with the DS shells, about 4hp each with the x-cans. We had thought about throwing on 2 side Doms or something like that, but thats just ANOTHER, $300 on top an already silly expensive project. And before you ask, this one has a Lojack on it

A tracking system, they used to be on cars, maybe they still are. But the police can track it.

Been done before with FG trucks. Hopefully it will have some sort of body? just looks a bit raw with the frame only.

Nice build though

WHY?
Why not? It's all about enjoying the hobby and taking it as far as you can. If you don't get it then I could never explain it to you.
