i still dont understand why MCD does this...i wouldnt want to have to grind away at and engine just to have it fit..you would like with the money you pay for there cars and trucks you wouldnt have to do that..

I completely agree, this is quite stupid, whey can’t they just make engine mounts like all the other companies? At the first time that I filed my engine I did it too deep & completely ruined the engine…

Heh,thats what I love about the MCD.Sacrificing a few pesky fins in the name of performance.I'll exchange a little time with a Dremel for a lower center of gravity any day!!That's how MCD separates the men from the boys.

Just looked at that manual - doesn't seem too much work, just making room off the bottom end gussets to allow the 4WD shaft to run.
what's wrong with that?

With a half decent round file and a hacksaw it literally takes 5 minutes. Just don't file too much otherwise you'll break into the crank case chamber

That’s what happened to me at the first time – I filed it too much and I broke into the crank case chamber, it was so much pain replacing that part & keep the engine sealed as it was… I am still having some hard time with that engine & I have many sealant issues with it (this is partly because it has a billet head & this is another place, in addition to the normal engine, that you need to seal).

My point is – don’t file more than 1-1.5mm give it a try & only then file more if necessary…
