I have $1900 to spend on a 5th scale that will be used for racing and sometimes bashing and I would like offroad and i don't mind if it is 2wd or 4wd

You mean up and running for 1900? Including engine, servos, radio, etc? What exactly is this budget for?

yes with engine, servos but not the radio sorry i didn't say it in first post

i would go with the new 4x4 ht version fg monster offroad beetle.for that money you would get a new one with some key upgrades in alloy.it would be very tough too.bear in mind im not talking about the comp model as this would be mostly alloy and would retail at nearly double that with hydros and decent radio gear.

or a 2wd monster fg offroad HT VERSION again meaning upgraded and you would have change left over after getting some good radio gear and decent brakes.

you specified racing.. what class or do you have both classes. the major thing is to see what local dealers you have in your area. you can buy a great model and have no product support. if your thinking about racing then the fg baga would be a good choice, but the MT' are pretty much only good for a straight line. also look into the mcd's. they have a better 4wd system then the fg. (in my opinion). but again, most important is product support.

A Baja 5B/T is always a good choice. You can get a nice hopped up one with that kind of money. If you want a truck the FG MT is good, but the 4x4 version will probably be too expensive for you.

ht denotes a 'hobbythek' modified base model (this has always been my understanding, anyway). Basically, it's the standard ARTR, with a few extra alloy bits, but not enough to be called a competition model. These are sold only at rc-car-online.de
