RE: Nutech 1/5 4WD Monster Truck Field test
nice video
that truck seems to have loads of potential.
it looks huge.
i have nothing but good things to say about cy engines,on my gt5-r the 23cc is awesome revs to the moon and years ago i bought a cy29cc billet bling engine and man for what it was it was a torque house.
i still have that old engine in pieces and i must rebuild it some time for a future project.
running lean low end though i think.

I'm thinking about maybe getting one of these for myself for xmas but would like to see some vid of some hard running as opposed to what i'd call a breaking in run...I want to see someone bash the hell out of one of these before i drop a grand into one

I should be able to oblige you there pretty soon. When my Sandstorm arrives, I'm gonna beat the TB2 til it breaks. In complete honesty, I'm hoping to set some kind of large scale distance jump record using a 15ft ramp.

I like the sound of the big jump foxy[8D]
I know someone fairly close to me who's just ordered one direct from nutech and will also test it to destruction in a very harsh enviroment so i'll be able to see first hand how these hold up to abuse...i'm extremely hard on my rc's (can count on one hand the amount of times I've bought my rigs home still in one piece) so need something that can be easily modded to help take the punishment... I can already see that this will need a full cage as the front end looks a bit on the light side but that's fine, both my ramps were the same. I am interested more in how the drivetrain will take a ported 30.5 I know with the centre diff it'll be a bit softer on diffs etc, though i'm not a great fan of centre diffs, great round a track but lacking in hillclimbs, i guess some 150000 or plasticine will fix that though.
So if my buddy doesn't destroy it within a couple of hours then I'll be down for one, a decent pipe is a must and it'll have to be a side job[].
I think it'll be sweet with some fgbaja wheels on it.
I'm looking forward to see one in the flesh

They're very impressive in the flesh, even the hi res pics in my review don't do the shiny black ano justice. They are very pretty inside and out. I too will be very keen to see how they handle a mad motor. Even though I don't possess such a motor nor feel a need for one, it was the main complaint of the old Titan, on which these cars are (very loosely) based. The problem before was the differentials trying to escape from the bulkheads/cases, so in the worst case, strengthening in that area should do the trick. The trouble was that the alloy diff covers (note I'm talking about the main cover of the differentials, not the actual differential case itself) were difficult to source for the Smartech, but that shouldn't be a problem with Nutech.

Now put a good exhaust on it and see the power double or all most. Hoping my Nutech Thunderbolt II Pro racer will be shipped next week. I have a Lauterbacher adjustable 4 shoe clutch and a Multiplex RHINO Digi 4 Steering Servo waiting for it to get here. I all so have several engines but not sure which one I am going to put in it.

There are plans for a sweet MT body, but as you all know, these things take time. Agree that the body is the only thing letting it down.

It definently must be strong. Yeah the body is holding its overall look down... But I just like the look of the FG style chassis. If I were to get a nutech it would be the sandstorm. That thing is killer!

With proper carb tweaking it will fly (bogs like hell on high revs)
Would be nice to see the cornering responce on a race truck.
That is definitely an awesome machine[8D]

RE: Nutech 1/5 4WD Monster Truck Field test
now that's a much better test, bad landings, throttle on landings and only damage i see is tweaked body mounts as it's leaning a bit to one side...i'm well impressed Chris...my deepest concerns were the diffs which held up to the th on landings and front of the chassis...is it still straight? I'm already first on the list when they hit my part of the world, can't say who's getting them yet cos i don't think it's been announced.
Oh and it flies real well... I can't wait.
Seems to run as any motor does with just a can...pipe that baby up with a 5b vrc side pipe and watch it scream[sm=lol.gif]

Moo,
The chassis is still straight.

sweet, as i said i'm impressed with this truck, with a obr 28.5 ported or a 30.5 and a vrc i don't think anything is going to touch this, looks like you got a real winner Chris.
Badboy, nutech are making their own hpi adapters that'll be more affordable than the other fg square to hpi currently on the market, so yes 5b/5t wheels will be an option
