Default new pipe on KM baja, wow!

so late last night i installed my KM (ddm clone) pipe on my 23cc km. not an easy task...it was so humid that my glasses were fogging up.

anyway, i just drove the baja. it took almost no tuning(slight turn of the low speed needle) to get it purring. only it doesn pur, is screams! man this pipe is loud. well, maybe its not so much louder but much higher pitched.

i was expecting a higher top end. i cant see much of an improvment there, but the low end power is upped ALOT. it accelerates much quicker now! way more fun with this pipe!.

anyone have a tip on how to keep the lower body pieces from collecting grass?

I put some of that gray packing foam in the openings and it keeps most of the crap out.

my issue isnt so much the opening, but the small space where the body panel and black rear skid plate come together. any time it bottoms out the body panel grabs some grass.

i still have to do the screen mod on the motor case, and i have a pre-screen filter for the pull start on the way.

these 1/5 scale machines are addictive!

I took the side pods and threw them out, then I cut the rear plastic plate they were attached to and cut it the same shape as the chassis and that works great for me

i see what you are saying, that would solve my problem. but i just got the baja and dont really want to chop up the body. just have to deal with pulling grass out of it for now. dont suppose you have a pic of what it looks like with that mod?

Not any pics from the bottom but here's a side shot and without the side pods it doesn't look half badYou can barely sewe the bottom rear skid plate but you get the idea, nice and clean and nothing to collect grass in

that doesnt look half bad! i might just do that once my pull-start filter comes.
i like the flames!

i have been thinking if i get a new body, i want to go all black, flat black on the body and black every where else. it would look really menacing!

Thx bud,you can just remove the side pods and skid plate and run a couple of times like that and if ya don't like it you can just put them back oneven if ya cut it they are cheap to get a new oneThen you could have both, run pods on road and no pods off road

Make some metal brackets the bolt onto the skid at the front and hang onto the cutout in the chassis. If photobucket will ever load, checkout this thread: http://www.hpibajaforum.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=53134

It was easy and worked very well.
