so whats the advantage of putting a 8000 or even a 5000 in?

higher rpm spring = more power at engage

stock is 6k, using the high rpm spring will allow the motor to rev higher before the clutch engages (springs open) making the car much more snappy off the line.

Well right now it's burning out and moving sidways, controllable but not desirable.

Then you need to adjust your controller settings and learn to drive it better, heheh...:)

What type of FG do you have and what surface are you running on?

Like I said it's controllable, but when the clutch hits it hits hard. I have the evo sport fwd. Not my first rc by a long shot but my first fith scale. So far the answers are what I expected, and thanks for em! I'm making sure I'm not missing something.no tracks around here. No one to watch and learn the lhs is some help thanks to the popularity of the buggys and trucks of this scale.I do have the throttle curve set pretty long. As to learning how to drive it I love the way it handles so much better than my other cars.so far on new pavement anyway.

You will need to match your tires to your running environment...stock tires take a while to heat up to get better traction. I tend to force spin outs of my rears to get things better. The longer you run them they will get better(the wheels' traction) If you continue to have issues, you will needd to get softer compound tires although they will wear faster...

thanks man. you know anything about the two speed transmissions? do they add low end or high?

bbuzzard 04-09-2012 07:36 PM

RE: clutch spring in fg?

they add high end...are you dragging or running on a track? Before you mess with that, you need to control the beast you are running now...

just parking lot running now.stopped racing awhile back, this truely is a hobby to me. i mess with everything i own like this its how i learn lol, from my full size porsche 928 to my victory hammer, rarely do i leave it stock.i was hoping for a little low end power as to thats where i seem to need it,im used to having more of a power band than this has. maybe as i drive it more ill get used to it.
