DIY 1/4 CARS RCMK 600B (finish the unfinished)
In fact this is about an unfinished post (started on April 13, 2013) by our founder and chief designer Mr. Yang. 2013. Here is the post: https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-...rcmk-600b.html. Due to the language, he didn't finish it. However it made a hit in a Chinese forum ( https://www.rcfans.com/thread-552461-1-1.html ). I think it is still worth sharing after 9 years passed. Let people see how we make our cars.
We didn't keep the original documents, so all the pictures are downloaded from the Chinese forum. The shame is all the videos are missing. The fabrication process spans almost 5 months. A lot of pictures. I will translate all the original words he posted in the Chinese forum, so that you won't miss anything. The post will be splitted into several updates, but this time I'll finish it. Any translation mistake, please point out. Beneath is the designer's voice. Hope you'll enjoy it. This is about the whole fabrication process of super off-road racer. It starts from upgrading 2-cylinder engine. Actually I don't know how to determine the scale. First let's do the RCMK 2-cylinder engine. Regarding its dissipation issue, please follow up my post and I'd like to hear your voice. Below is the design. I'll use RCMK 2-cylinder for it. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...a9481d27b4.jpg 1st design is enforced dissipation. Sync belt drives the fan. cons: 2 cylinders have different dissipation. pros: it's mechanical. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...5565a23a37.jpg 2nd design dissipates by 4 large fans. cons: needs extra power pros: stable and good dissipation https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...c04d1089ba.jpg 1/4 Super Car, Chapter Engine 1: SKF bearing and Sweden seal ring for retrofiting casing https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...3b9234eae8.jpg new side cap and casing for pull-start, HV ignition and coil https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...2f90050bbe.jpg 2. mount SKF bearing (12 x 32 x 10) https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...d89ba3f6a6.jpg assembled up casing https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...df4d19fea2.jpg HV ignition https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...a8bc2fafa8.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...d849a35b39.jpg install ignition coil https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...8a71ae1772.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...0863d4a207.jpg mount cylinder head. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...40e53903e8.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...1a50a026b0.jpg fit the clutch mount last https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...e1cbddffb4.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...4b7f84ed8e.jpg attach a picture of separate parts https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...224914072f.jpg Chapter engine is over. Waiting for further update! Chapter aluminum alloy body First let's have a look at the design. I'll update the pictures on Mar. 22nd, 2013 (it's under Oxidation). Body Configuration https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...c569465749.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...563f687687.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...334171f251.jpg Below is body aluminum parts: https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...09f0e6ec8a.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...7c1a19708e.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...ccfe147f1b.jpg Update some pictures of metallic parts (before oxidation). My plan is first assembly and then surface treatment after confirmation. Let's check the chassis length (overall 850mm) https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...e70cf25302.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...fb0e6f675c.jpg |
Note: below words are translated from the original Chinese forum by our founder and chief designer Mr. Yang.
Thanks for all the support and attention! Mar.31st, 2013 update is about oxidated alloy parts The chassis parts will adopt Titanium alloy oxidation to render a metallic feel, though it's made of aluminum alloy. 1. front section https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...234e179f41.jpg 2. rear section https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...befc38ba9c.jpg 3. side boards https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...4ef0f52d8e.jpg 4. front diff. bracket https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...3c5695ef9c.jpg 5. front upper plate support https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...edc64cc9e4.jpg 6. middle diff. bracket https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...0ac5b74e07.jpg 7. rear diff. bracket https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...24a0b6c008.jpg 8. steering rod https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...ee4cc8ad78.jpg 9. rear shock tower https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...0a996cd668.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...9e33eca12c.jpg 10. big gear plate https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...a457d2e1ee.jpg 11. dual steering servo bracket https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...96b46b8a74.jpg 12. throttle servo bracket + 4 wheel hydraulic pump bracket https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...37c6216659.jpg 13. twin cylinder engine side brackets https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...807c178cb6.jpg 14. front / rear lower arm bracket https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...11030a4fae.jpg done with alloy parts update The next update is about Nylon Parts |
