You bought a new diff or you just want to know ? I recently bought the alloy differential and its the same diff as the adjustable one. Exept for the shell. If you have the standard alloy diff shell you cant adjust it, only poke things into the hole in the diff housing :)
Otherwise there is supposed to go some kinda screw through that hole that you adjust from the shell.

Guys, do these adjustable diffs use the same soft diff covers that come stock on the FG cars? If so, I'm disappointed. My diff covers is really getting grooved, and I'd hate to spend the money like you guys did, then get big grooves again.

My adjustable diff came on a road car. JUst a case of finding out what is on it nd how it all works. More tings to tamper with. As the saying goes, if it aint broke, fiddle :D

RE: Adjustable diff seting up

lee you will find 2 holes in the raised bit on the diff tube inside these are 2 allen key grub screws which hold the sun gear shaft in place. Back off both grub screws 180 degrees then turn one screw in and the other screw out an equal amount untill you get the locking effect you want and then tighten the screw you were backing out and your done. If you don't get the locking effect reverse the direction you are turning the grub screws. if you are still not getting any effect you have a problem with the thrust bearing inside the diff.

paul, the adjustable diff cover is different it is thicker aluminium and has a raised "ring" for want of a better word that holds the adjusting grub screws.

hope this helps
