yes but you can see where the upper a arm has been smacking onto the poly cover (reason for failure last time)

upper arm does not touch gear cover dont no what your talking about mad wax you said (reason for failure last time) has not failed gears worn out due to rocks sand not because
arm is touching

they do touch when model is moving - the upper plastic rear arm is the worst part to flex and they have been known to hit the lexan gear covers or damage the spur gear, but if it works for you then stick with it - but you find most large scale owners tend to prefer alloy rear upper arms to elimante that problem

RE: no more worm gears

Apparently on hard lands the upper a arm flexes and touches the large gearwheel, stripping it. Not had that problem myself but others have reported it.

Yes it could be because of general wear, or one big failure due to stones, but it could be the a arm problem. I've only had one pair of stripped plastic gears (well worn though)

Will they fit the Firehammer/carson buggys ?
I havent had any problems with spur gear wear since the steel pinion, but im always looking for better upgrades.

RE: no more worm gears

yes as these are the same buggy teamchrome as far as i know . [this mod is home made] so you build it to suit takes about 20 min[ as we race our cars on sand and dirt gravel we have alot of wear [no problem with arm hitting even when jumping not on the big foot. traveller gets closer but still dont hit
at the 1\4 scale speedway dont have problem becauce track is watered down

I like the totally enclosed gears, that way, NO gravel can enter.
I might give it a Try.

Having some lube there, should also help with the life of the gears.

Nice mod...I'm gonna try it on my xtm it tears gears off left and right also....mine from same thing...rocks,sand, gravel...my control arms don't hit either they are 1/2" away....guess fg's got some design issues there if the control arm hits the gear cover
