Why HPI?
 

maybe somebody can tell :eek:why HPI use thinner oil in the rear shocks and thicker oil in the front? ..which is very opposite to the common practice...another one is why they recommending NOT to use silicone based oil in their shocks,why?

so what are u guys doin in your shock set-up?

This is normal in 1/8 buggies and most racer run heaver oil in the front including I.

Heavier Front The turn radius is wider, but smoother. The car doesn't 'hook' suddenly.
The car is easier to drive, and high-speed steering feels very nice.

Softer Front The steering reacts quicker.
More and better low-speed steering.

I spoke to a HPI rep about the silicon oil and he said it was just cost. The silicon is more money and does the same job, you can use it just more of it for these bigger shocks.
