Back again :D had some more of my samples show up so now I can start testing this model as well as the SY Racing, first glance when I opened the box was [X(] had some shipping damage but I can live it with it lol the boxes were soaked and felt like wet rags, cracked bodies on both samples the funny thing is the NY post office put a huge label on both boxes blaming the International Post Office lol gotta love those guys.

RE: Kalee Belt Driven 4WD Picture Heavy!!!

Now let take a look under the body :D, the axles and drive shafts are very thick, I really like the front drive shafts with the universal joint on them its very smooth under full suspension no binding.

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...ky_010/4-8.jpg

The belt drive is so quite its almost a sin lol if you made this electric it would certainly be stealth ninja I was so amazed it doesnt sound like church bells and no clattering of steel gears :D

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...y_010/2-10.jpg

nice little skid plate on the bottom which is easily removable for working on stuff

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...ky_010/5-6.jpg
http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...ky_010/6-6.jpg

The brakes and gear setup is nice a brake system for each of the large drive gears

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...ky_010/7-4.jpg
http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...ky_010/8-2.jpg
http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...ky_010/9-1.jpg

The motor didnt have any label on the pull start for some reason but you can clearly see its a CY motor not sure why its not badged as normal

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...y_010/10-1.jpg

I took it our for an initial run and breakin, I didnt video tape is as watching some guy run an RC around at half throttle is about as much fun as watching paint dry to once I get it broken in and I cant start beating it like a red headed step child I will get some video, after a few nice jumps I managed so come out with a taco-ed rear shock support which didnt surprise me as I could bend it with my fingers not sure why they didnt use the same style shock support as the front, I will be getting a normal style rear shock support for it.

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...y_010/12-1.jpg
http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k55/Sticky_010/13.jpg

Thats it for now I hope to have some time over the new year holiday to run it again and get some video for you guys along with some more review as I get it dialed in and some fuel ran through it, weather man is talking single digits for the highs the next couple of days which is hell on these 2 strokes and the plastic parts so I wil have to see how things go lol.

Scott can you measure and weigh the wheels for me, look perfect for my rampage...as long as they're a bit lighter and durable I'd be wanting a set.
Interested to see how the ol' belt holds up and how much power it drains.

thing is huge...can't wait to see some vid of this thing

These are 8" tires and 5" wide, seem like nice thick rubber so they should last, I have 2 wheels off at my house from the one I am testing so I will have to weigh them when I get home tonight. These only have 1 belt in them so I would assume it will take just as much if not more then a steel drive shaft with connecting cups plus its dead quiet and looks like it shouldnt be to hard to swap out in a pinch.

:D Haha yeah I'm not to crazy about the bodies either but then again I don't really like the 5T body but honestly they all look like hell after some good bashing so to me they are only there to help keep the crap out of the chassis and electronics, the 5T bodies are expensive so if I can import these and keep the prices down it will be a good alternative to the stock HPI 5T bodies for some hard bashing and keep the 5T body nice and neat for sale later or whatever. I have a buddy stopping by with his HPI 5T so I can compare everything as these almost look a little longer with the 4WD but once I can compare them I will know.

It will get a good beating now the snow around here has 3 days of rain on top and it all froze I can rip this across the open fields with some awsome natural ice jumps so it should be a good test and allot of fun I took it out the other night and it goes really good in the snow with the 8" wheels :-) should make for some good video.

Cool looking model. It is ALOT like the hpi 5's the chassis looks almost identical. Can you do a physical comparison to the 5t/b? Do any parts look interchangable?

Yeah I have a buddy stopping over soon with his 5T so I can compare my biggest thing is I want to know if the 4WD will convert over to the HPI as that would be huge and if allot of the HPI parts will work that would be nice as well :D I hope it works out as these seem like some pretty nice units for the most part and certainly something a little different.

This wheels are tires are great for us rampage mt guys looking for a lighter wheels and tire combo but keeping the MT look. We might even only need to buy tires if the wheels are hpi spec replicas and already have 4 rear hpi wheels or proline wheels!

I saw this model of truck about a year ago on ebay, http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=8218632&key=

looks like they redesigned the belt drive since then, from dual belts to a single belt

looking at the pics in the link the rear shock brace is also bent, the manufacturer should have revised this aswell.

cant wait to see a vid of this truck run.[8D]

Yes I will have some video soon of it, I took it out this New Year Holiday to get the engine broken in and melted the clutch carrier so I had to order an aluminum one from DDM, I will have to modify the aluminum to work but I should fit I hope lol, below are a few pictures.

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...y_010/2-11.jpg

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...y_010/3-13.jpg

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...ky_010/4-9.jpg

Looks like the clutch pads are shot from the clutch drum running crooked

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...ky_010/5-7.jpg

Wont be able to run it again until the aluminum carrier shows up in the next few days.

Thank You,
Scott
