adding a launch hook to an easyglider?
After I glue the pieces of my easy glider back together, I want to remove the motor and make it strictly a glider.
I'll use a high start for launching...
I'll have to add a hook to the bottom. where should I locate it relative to the CG?
thanks
Steve

You'll want the hook to be adjustable so a plywood plate inside the fuselage and that is reinforced to the sides to hold the hook would be worth doing. Make it big enough that the hook can be screwed in at a few spots. I'd start with it located about a half in ahead of the balance point on the underside of the wings. Likely you won't have to move it again but it's nice to be able to shift it a quarter inch either way if needed.

Low speeds of a hi-start are not an issue. This glider launches beautifully off a HS.

Or you can use blind nuts and make your own - mount 3 to a 1/8 piece of plywood, then epoxy it in with the nuts to the foam side. Set it so you have one about on CG and the other 2 forward of the CG. Now you can try different positions. You can match up and thread a finishing nail or use a screw that fits. If you use a screw that you ben 90 degrees, grind the threads off so that the hi-start ring does not get stuck on them.
