I'm restoring a Drifter II that has not flown for somewhere around 25 years. The plans and construction notes are long-gone. Can anyone out there tell me how far the CG reference is behind the leading edge of the wing.
Thanks.
Thanks.

If you need plans, contact:

Likely a set is in the archives and can be copied and sent to you. They can let you know what the cost would be.

Yes......that's where I started. Great Planes told me the Drifter was a discontinued product when they acquired the Dynaflite product line. They have no records of it.
But thanks for your suggestion.

Interesting! I was out of the hobby when Dynaflite was formed, combining Mark's Models, Craft-Air and Hi-Flight kits, and when Dynaflite was sold To Great Plains, I also assumed that the Drifter II was kitted by Great Plains under the Dynaflite line. The later Drifter II kits have the large Dynaflite name stamped on the box but apparently they were produced before the Great Plains aquisition.
BTW, the Dynaflite Piece O' Cake powered glider uses the same wing as the Drifter II and Great Plains did produce that kit. Altho the kit has been discontinued, the manual is still available on-line, with drawings of the the die cut sheets identifying the wing ribs.
A friend had a Drifter II as his first glider and it was a floater, better than my Wanderer. I have an incomplete Drifter II kit which I have been promising myself to build for some time. The Piece O' Cake ribs may still be available from Dynaflite; I bought a set a couple of years ago but they are best used for rib patterns.[
