Well this is interesting! I put the rudder on the fuse to see what it looks like and it was a bit off, crap! The rudder matches the plans exactly but the fuse was different but being that it was laser cut ply I don't think I could do much about it anyways. I think I can trim a little off the bottom of the fin to realign it though.

I've never seen it before, do you think it was because Sig switched the fuse to laser cut ply? I guess it ended up being no big deal either way I just took a little slice off of the bottom and it fit perfectly. I also decided not to use CA hinges and install the Robart type which I bought a good 15 years ago and never used. They were super easy to install and move so easy! On other models in the past I used a flat Du-bro hinge with a removable pin that worked well but I really like the Robart ones.
My next step is to hinge the rudder and then cut out the ply pieces that I will glue to F1 ribs to secure the front of the bolt on wing. This will be my first attempt at turning a rubber band wing to bolt on so I hope all goes well. I also need to start thinking of what colors I will use for the Riser. I've always used Monokote but my LHS sells Ultracoat which I have never tried. Being that it is a glider I will of course use transparent covering for one of the colors.

Gluing the polyhedral joint this morning just reminded me again why I don't like building wings and its one of the few things about building I would rather skip! It's been 100+ degrees here in Northern Cali so I got out early in the shop to glue the wing.

What do you have left to do on the Riser 100. I'm starting on the outer wing panels now. I also have to wait till July 1 to buy my motor and esc. And the extension cables for the spoiler servo's.

The fuse and tail are covered and the engine (e-flight power 25) is mounted, had I known about the Turnigy GliderDrive SK3 Competition Series motors I would have selected it. I bought the prop and spinner setup used on the e-flight Mystique because I knew the engine I selected was the same in the Mystique and it was only $25. All I have left is to finish the spoiler setup, finish sand and cover the main wing. Sad to not finish I know, I will finish it once I complete the Scepter.

My E-Riser 100
Hi;
Well I started with the right outer wing panel today. I know, people can build these fast. But I'm lazy. The mains are framed and waiting to get the brass tubes in them.
To the people that didn't know I was building a E-Riser 100 is because I have it in another forum. I have started here on page 28. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...075029&page=28.
Here is some other pictures of my build.
The fin is just sitting in there, not glued in yet. After all parts are done and covered, then they will be assembled.

Well, I am on a set income. But all the reason's you gave counts. And since I have a window A/C in the front room, and my building room has the door shut to help cool the front room and the bedroom I sleep in. I don't stay in there very long building.

My E-Riser 100
Hey all;
Question: I found these gussets on the outer wing panel rib sheets. Are they for the outer wing panel? I looked everywhere in the manual. But I can't find where to put them or on the plans. Am I missing something here.

In the picture where you are gluing the main and outer wing panels together. Where the polyhedral is, is there only one rib in there? It looks like it in the picture.

E-Riser 100 Update:

I laid my left outer panel down next to the inner panel. Nothing is glued yet. And it has to be adjusted too. The right wing panels are on top of the box.
And if you look really hard, at the bottom left. You will see the back of the boom of my Aquila Grande" fuselage.

E-Riser 100 Update:
Got my brass tubing in without gluing the metal rod. Just have to get the 30 minute epoxy. Building a little slow till the beginning of July when I can order some things for the Riser 100. I finally got around binding my receiver to the transmitter also. Now I can play around with it and get the control rods setup.

E-Riser 100 Update:
Well, I got one side of my brass tube epoxied and I epoxied in a couple of balsa blocks for the guide pin. And if I ever break that dowel off, I could always drill it out and put in a metal piece instead. My left and right wing tips are epoxied on. Just got to finish shaping them.

I don't have a clue why this editor not showing the pictures like it should.

I just got back from vacation I've been in the woods for the last 8 days with no email/phone service (thank God), didn't realize how much off a break I needed.
Okay to answer your question here is what I have left to do:
1) Finish sand and cover the main wings
2) Hook up the spoiler servos to the spoilers
3) Glue the vertical stabilizer on
4) Glue the rudder and elevator on
5) Install the ESC and rudder/elevator control rods
6) Balance the Riser
That should about do it, I hate covering especially wings so I'm procrastinating!

Yeah I left it out on purpose and sistered it in afterwards with epoxy for a perfect fit, I've done this before with great results. It never made sense to me to sand the matting surfaces to get them to line up when it could just be done afterwards. Of course this only works when you know how high to prop up the wing tip.

Here are a few pics of my shaped wing tips. Nothing fancy I kept the tip flat on the bottom and shaped the top2171068[/IMG]2171069[/IMG]2171070[/IMG]2171071[/IMG]
