Default WOT 4 XL Glider Tug And First Time Glider Tug Pilot.

I have fitted a glider tow release to my WOT 4XL pictured here without the tow release. It is powered by a Laser 150 (25cc) four stroke V twin. I am going to attempt towing a glider on Wednesday. I believe that the glider is a 3 metre ASW of some kind.

Anybody ever done this?

Any tips?

I guess you will have done this by now. How did it go?

It didn't go too well. The glider kept pulling the tug upwards. Some of my colleagues have suggested moving the glider tow release to a position on the fuselage behind the trailing edge of the wing.

Yes, the tow position should be as close to the CG as possible so just behing the wing is convenient. Make sure that the tug has a fairly long line, at least 100" for your first attempts. Once you master it its good fun.
