Default Legend

I am looking for plans for a Legend glider. I got the fuse from Dreamcatcher Hobby. I need to find the wing plans and the tail plans. I am planing on using sheeted foam for both. below is a pic of the fuse.

Thanks for any help in advance, Edessa.

Is this the Airtronics Legend? That is a T tail. I can't tell from your photo if that is what you have.

yes it is the old airtronics and yes it is a t-tail. Some have made it into a v-tail. Dream catcher hobbies has the rights to the kit now.

I'm curious, Dream Catcher can't supply wing & tail or at least give you a lead as to where you can find them?

Anyway keep us posted.

Did you find the plans for the Legend?

I am setting mine up now, but I purchased it used and already built. I don't have the plans.

Could you check the plans and tell me what the inital throws should be and where the CG is supposed to be set?

Hey there aeajr,

THe balance point on the drawings is exactly 4 inches from the leading edge.

The control throws are:

Elevator : 3/8 inches up
3/8 inches down

Rudder : 1-1/4 inches left
1-1/4 inches right

Ailerons : 3/8 inches up
1/4 inches down

Flaps : 5/8 inches down for launch
90 degrees for landing

Hope this helps and good luck, Edessa.

Let me know how you do with it.

I did two hand throws with mine on a day that was too windy. bad landing and snapped off the wing bolt. Of course that is why you use nylon wing bolts, so they can break and protect the wing.

Have yet to fly mine.

A strong hi-start should be able to launch it. I have a NE Sailplanes Standard and have no doubt that it will be able to launch this 80 ounce monster.

Edit:

Correction NE Sailplanes Large (1/2" rubber)

Just going over some old threads on the Legend. Getting it ready for a contest and noted that my post says I have a NE sailplane large HS. Nope! NESail X-large - Big beast of a hi-start.

Normally I winch it anyway.

i have quite alot of time on a legend - they fly really well - the polyhedral wing makes for nice handling - but, keep it moving - it's very efficient if flown alittle fast - it does not like to be flown slow (it becomes a dog if you try to slow it down too much).

Hi Guys, I too have the fuse . . . and the tail. I bought the kit from Airtronics ten years ago, during construction my 4mo. old, $3000 GS pup that I imported from Germany was in her 'chewing' stage . . . especialy stuff I touched. Left the door to my workshop open and . . . no more wings! She must have found them very tastey. I in a fit of anger threw everything away, plans, inst. and what was left of the wings. Sure wish I hadn't done that now.

Anyway, Dreamcatcher sold out at the first of the year. At the time I was going to order a Grand Esprit but being X-mass time and having kids and a bunch of relatives all needing presents couldn't come up with the dough which was a shame because when I inquired to Dreamcatcher about the Legend wing, plans etc. He said if I ordered the Esprit he'd throw in the Legend stuff I needed, wing kit, plans and inst. !

As a note: A group called 'Aerosphere' bought all the mfg rights and Jigs Dreamcatcher had and plans to be in production soon starting with a Sagitta 900 with the rest of the line to come. I don't know if they have their site up yet. I've been in contact with them (e-mail) at: RCkitscommingsoon.com. I've been thinking of asking them about aquireing what I need.

Anyone want to give me a set of the plans and inst. ? I'll pay for the copying costs. With that info could one make a 'built up' wing (ala one with ribs etc. instead of foam?)
