Default Spirit 2m Building / Modification Question.

Hi,
During my many visits to RC Universe, I came across a post/article/something, that discussed modifications to the GP Spirit 2m kit. I recall it mention/discussed modifying the angle at which the stabilser sat on the fuselarge (sorry, but I cant remember the technical term)...

Does anyone know where the tread/sit was?? I have done a quick search of the forum and have not found it yet.

Thanks

VB

Hi aeajar, if I remember correctly in one of your very earlier post's you stated that you did not like to or want to build, if memory serves me right, please don't shoot me if I'm wrong.[&o]

From what I gather now your an avid builder and experimenter

Would you now say that building is more fun than flying? I think every time I build a wing I do it a little differently and a little better, it seem theres no end to the learning, what great fun

Mike,

I still do not consider myself a builder. I would rather fly then build. What building I do to accomodate repairs I do because I must.

I don't consider fitting out a built plane with electronics as building. I like that part, but I would still rather fly than fit out.

I didn't build my first car, but within a year I was taking them apart and rebuilding engines. I am doing that now with planes. Picking up built, perhaps used planes, doing some minor repairs then fitting them out.

I think I will likely become a builder some day, but not right now.

You asked about what building I do. This is the kind of thing I do. It is discussed here:

Here is the result of the reconfiguration of the rebuilt Spirit.

Before the changes 4.5 oz of lead to balance the plane.
After, 1 oz. Stayed with standard size servos.

Made space for ballast area in center of plane. Can put in a 12.5 oz battery as ballast and not have to use any lead for ballancing

Have fitted the plane with a power pod. Can put it on and off and still keep the plane at neutral balance.

hey aeajr, do you have any more detailed pics of your power pod setup? I was thinking of making one for my cirrus! Might even make a gas powered version too.
