Default Kyosho stratus 1600

I was considering getting a Kyosho Stratus 1600 electric glider. Has anyone had one of these? What are they like?

I have one and will give it a go this weekend. All charged up and ready to go.
I have an 8 cell NiMH battery pack which, I believe, is relative low on power for a direct drive motor, but we'll try anyway.
Let you know next week.

I have one of these gliders, but I want to upgrade the power system for a little more power and a few more flights. Does anyone have any power setups that have worked for them?

thanks,

Ching

I just got the Kyosho Stratus 1600... it was too pretty to pass up.
Some differences in their way vs my way.
I mounted the flight battery.. an 8x800 Nimh directly behind the motor, with the receiver and ESC under the wing.
I taped the two sheaths for the pushrods together to keep flexing when pushing to a minimum.
The pushrods have z-bends at both ends.. to eliminate the soldering needed for the clevis.
Doubled up the doubler at the rear of the wing, and tapped it 8-32 instead of using a blind nut.
Added a skid to the fuselage nose.
Flying weight 22 oz.
I can't see how on earth it could have balanced anywheres near the c.g. with the battery under the wing!
Mine is just about 1/2oz tail heavy as it is.
It's a good flier, with the c.g. uncorrected with the 1/2oz I just added.. but will stall out of a tight turn. That's a too aft c.g.
The really nice all-red covering is pretty bad at altitude against a clear blue sky.
Added transparent yellow to the outer tip panels for better visibility at distance..
