Altus XL electric glider
Doe's anyone know who makes this glider and where a sales outlet is that I can call. Also, can anyone post a pic of this glider. I've heard a little bit about it but have not seen it nor do I know where to find one. I did see a pic of the nose only on RC-Tech.ch but that was from an onboard vid camera and did not show the model as a whole. I've been flying planes for years but I'm new to the electric sail plane scene.
Thanks for any info. you can share.

NE Sailplnes sells them, but I think under a different name.
I built a test flew one, easy to assemble, flies very nicely.
It wouldn't be my first choice for learning electric sailplanes on though, check out:

Thanks Rich,
I'll check out the other sites you have listed here when I get home from work. They are blocked on my work terminal.
I do have a Tower Catalog here at work, I'll look in it and see if I can figure out which model you have posted.

RE: Altus XL electric glider
Hello,
This is an excellent thermal glider, which can also fly on slopes in light conditions (8 to 20 km/h of wind). Suited for beginners after a first successfull step with a 3-axis glider. But also a nice model to try some gentle aerobatics, or playing with wing profile, thanks to the full span ailerons. Airtech-rc.com sells a central wing panel which allows to increase the wingspan from 180 cm to 250 cm. It will require some additional pilot skills with the longer wings, nice step on the progression curve!
Low wingload with only around 400 g for the glider, 600 g for the electro-glider with a small (100W) brushless and Lipo, add 180 g for the central wing panel with cables. Easy to track the smallest lift, good handling, elegant and precise flying. Since the fuselage is of light construction, it might be worthwile to reinforce it with kevlar bands running from nose to under the wings. Wings are more solid than they look, with a D-Box. Tail will need to be protected during transport.
The whole glider with its extra panel can fit in a small transport case: ideal to take on holidays or always have in the car, when no other model can stay up in the air.
Enjoy!
