I am selling off some items for a wife of a club member that died and I need a little help on the name and worth of a sailplane. I know nothing about sailplanes. I have flown glow and gas for several years but this is new to me. The sailplane looks new. It has 150 inch wingspan. Any help would be appreciated.
I have 5 or 6 other sailplanes I will need help on but this is the biggest.
Here is a picture.
Thanks Rick

Can anyone tell me what this is worth on the market today? I would like to get what I can for this lady but would also like for someone buying it to get a good deal also.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Definitely a Sailaire. Qualifies for Nostalgia class events due to its age. Still a great plane; you can find them on ebay from time to time. Original Craft Air kits are more valuable than the later Dynaflite remakes. Haven't seen a Craft Air kit for a while; the Dynaflites go for $150-200. I have one that is 20 yrs old and still flying; have another in the kit (Dynaflite)

AT least $300 if it is as good as it looks. I built one of the Craftair kits back in 1977 and am still flying it in Nostalgia. Craftair kit quality was very poor but it build into a good model with a little extra work and replacing some of the wood. Left and right wing root fairings did not line up with the wings when both set at the same incidence but you couldn't see the mismatch while flying.
I bought one of the first Dream Catcher kits at the 1995 Nats so I could have a backup if I lost my Sailaire. I haven't needed to build it yet but the quality of the kit is much much better than the Craftair kit. Don't know about the quality of the Dynaflight version.
