Hey guys, i need some advice:
on my ARF the ailerons have a VERY limited down movement. It' due to the "covering hinge" being too tight. On one aileron i get max DN throw of less than 1/2" and the other not even that! see pics
What to do? is cutting the covering the only option here?
Thanks for helping,
V.

Too much down aileron creates lift, this is why a lot of models tend to do barrelly rolls, rather than more axial rolls.........its called the differential effect.
Fly the model first, before altering anything.

If you want a totally aerobatic performance then you need plenty down aileron - if you can handle it! If, however you want scale-ish performance then 2:1 up/down is fine. One of my 'oldies' (1982 ASW 19) has NO down. Any movement that way creates a massive tip-stall!

OK then, i'll try flying it as is but i will try to heat up the covering while "bending" the aileron a bit to get at least 1/2" on both sides.
if that doesn't work, i'll cut&tape
Cheers,
V.
