Scepter 100 w/Power Pod NEED HELP!!!
Well, Here is a home-made powerpod for my Scepter 100. The engine is an AP .061 Wasp with the throttle rigged so it can maintain any setting needed. I have a 7x3 prop on it right now but do not think it is large enough. What prop size should I try? 8x3, 8x4, 7x4, etc. I am just waiting on a 1oz fuel tank and then I will give it a try.
What do you think..... Will it work?
Thanks

You're going the wrong way. To get more power out of a glow engine you need to go for a smaller prop. Try a 6x3 and go for 25% nitro to get the power and thrust up. And you'll need all the throttle opening you can get. Wire it wide open or even put on the old style standard venturi if you have one for it.
Unlike electric motors you need to prop glow engines to let them run at their peak power output which is generally as fast as they can run within reason. If the model still doesn't climb then you can try a 5x3. If that doesn't do the trick then the model is just too heavy for the 061 and you need a larger engine.

I think you have a nice arrangement there!
I used a Cox .049 to power my Gentle Lady for years...and it worked great.
You will need to follow the Engine Manufacturers (Wasp) propellor recommendations for good engine performance. Your 100 inch aircraft may be a bit much for that little engine. I predict a gentle climb angle with your set-up.

kilmerelrc- Everything's ok? how the flight report with powerpod on your Scepter 100? That sailpane looking good, look alike Sig Raiser 100" to me. mine with .049 black widow, it work with gentle lady 78". what is your sailpane's auw? most people put on .09/.10 engine for 80"-100's" for better performance to get up there fast w/ throttle required. just in case, flight's problem so you can shut the engine off and land for safe.
