Default RE: Question about thermal soaring at power clubs.

We ran our first contest yesterday. 8 pilots attended. We had a great time. I took second place.

3 of the pilots were very very new. I think they learned a lot and had fun too.

Hi Starts and winches dont mix with a busy powered field,IMO.
However powered gliders with 2.4 seem to fit OK at our club.
Best is electro with a folding prop, but if you dont want to make the investment in all the necessary electro gear a .15 in a three metre or smaller in a two meter works well.
I have two bird 3000 with electro and a large LiPo on 2.4 and two BOT with OS .15 and 2.4 all with spoilers so I dont have to shoot them down on landings...........works for us.
