Looking for an Electric Folding pusher Prop
Can anyone tell me where I can purchase an electric folding pusher prop 8.5X6" or larger? I have searched the web with little results.
Any imput will help.

RE: Looking for an Electric Folding pusher Prop
I have a "Power Pod" by Soaring USA which I am just about to put on sale. Soaring USA sells two pods, "large" and "small". Mine's the latter. Has CAM 12/6 blades which remain spring-folded until the motor starts. Here's a pic or two.
Don't see the pics - maybe they don't show on the preview.
Anyway, the pod cost me $300, same price as other pods around now.
The pod has been flown only a couple of times - on a Cularis, but found I didn't like the hard nose-down on launch. So I'm now asking $125. It's in good shape.
Please reply ASAP, since I'll sell elsewhere if you don't want it.

RE: Looking for an Electric Folding pusher Prop
Thank You for your kind offer, but I already have a brushless motor and mount unit. I just need the folding pusher prop.
Very nice power plant unit!

Can't you just put prop on reversed, then reverse motor rotatation? I do that on my electric pushers, but not sure if you can with folding props. Good luck with it though!

I have a pusher prop, but I need it to be folding. A folding prop will resist damage due to belly landings.
Thanks for responding.

What I mean is, anyfolding prop should work in the size you want. Just one in the size you want, put prop on backwards, reverse motor, voila! Now you have a folding pusher prop.

RE: Looking for an Electric Folding pusher Prop
Maybe this could work? My first pusher project here. Interms of the the motor rotation direction, is the motor suppose to turn counter clock wise-( from the view looking from the rear of the motor?) That is, the reverse of a traditional traction set-up when the motor is mounted in front of the airplane and turning clockwise?

That's the great thing about brushless motors, they run the same either direction equally. On my small pusher planes, I have the prop spinning counterclockwise when looking from front of plane. So the motor is actually spinning clockwise when facing motor from shaft end.

CBM is correct it doesn't matter the direction of the rotation. Just flip the prop around; switch red and black wires leading from motor to speed control, and it will work.

Thank You! I'll give the prop flip method a try too, with the motor wired to turn clockwise from rear view.

No, you're wrong to state you can take any folding prop system and turn it around. The tractor folding props fold BACK along the fuse. They would NOT fold backwards when used in the pusher mode, without major modification. Dont' guess when you're giving advice.

RE: Looking for an Electric Folding pusher Prop
Considering that this thread is almost 3 years old I suspect he's figured out if it'll work or not.
Besides a folding prop mounted "backwards" on a rear facing motor is actualy facing the way it was originally designed for. So it would fold back with the slipstream pressure and trail behind the motor pod just fine. Think about it.
