Bubble Dancer finally started
Well I bought all the pieces, parts and stuff to build a BD over a year ago. Around 250.00 to 300.00 bucks worth (afraid to actually do the math[:-])
Any how the pod is together with the boom glued in and the two halves are curing in a home made jig to keep every thing straight. Not going to do a build log. Enough of those around.
I'm just stoked to get it done.
Tail will be next. I got the Bud Elder V mount. Man he does nice work.[8D]

RE: Bubble Dancer finally started
Thanks Ed,
I have become quite the slow builder, one or two planes last year. Used to knock out half a dozen a winter. I want to try and do a composite second wing for it but we'll see how fast this one goes. I should have 5 gliders up and going this season
Well modified GL
Big Bird XL
48" sloper BEE
Sagitta 600
Bubble dancer on the way, with a possible second wing.
BUT, I may be able to swing an Electric Ava ..."MAY" I won't have to build it though[8D]

Well I fly 'em some. I like the modded out GL for our club field. Piggy back launching . Our field is a bit on the narrow side for highstarts etc. The Big Bird is still pretty new I didn't get many chances to go fly it since it was finished. The Bee is a slope job we have a few hills here (Ozarks). Usually the wind is just right when I'm working. RES is my goal so the BD will be more competetive. I have found a couple of huge clear cow pastures close by my house where I could practice. The glow guys make it hard to practice at the regular club field, even though several of these guys have gliders too. The Sagitta is a gift, I have not flown it yet. It was a partially built kit. I finished building it, added spoilers, renforced the wing spar a bit and made the rudder straight. Now I need to cover it. Hopefully this season I can pop out east to St. Louis for some RES flying. I'm going to NEED more practice though!

I glued up the Bubble Dancer pod and boom....crooked[:@]. Heated up the back end of the pod with the monokote gun and got it loose, then out, without damaging anything. WHEW! Scared the @#$& out of me though. I redid it last night and it came out nice and straight. Seems West Systems epoxy will soften back up with heat if it isn't fully cured by time or heat treatment.
The Pod softened up temporarily as well making removal much easier. The former that holds the fat end of the boom inside the pod stayed solidly glued to the boom. SO I had to heat the pod a second time to get it back in! I was a rather nervous nelly last night but it looks just fine now.[8D]

Not a lot. I did shoot a few coats of primer on it and sanded with 320 grit between coats to fill the little holes. After doing that for around four coats I shot it with some spray can automotive enamel (white). It came out pretty well. I think it needs one more coat. Then on to the wings!
I will have to do a shop clean first though. I have C&#! every where.
Thinking about a new radio for this one. May go 2.4. Can't decide if I want to go with Airtronics or Hitec though

Lots of overtime lately, nice for the budget . Stinks for building time. Won't do a full out build log but I will post some pics here and there as it comes along. All I got done this week was a second coat of auto enamel on the fuse.

Tail Feathers ready for covering! Boom is on straight now. On to the wing.
I made the kevlar hinges and like them well enough to use this kind of hinge on other planes.
