Middle Aged XC Identification.

Please comment if you remember this airplane I was so graciously gifted. It's too heavy x 1/2 lb. for rules-legal cross-country flying, but should make a nice sport sailplane.
What I know-
1. 195" Wingspan
2. 1755 Sq. In.
3. Rolled birch plywood tailboom. Fiberglass front fuselage. Balsa sheeted & fiberglassed white foam wings and stabilizer. Built-up counterbalanced rudder. I added a wheel, aero-tow release, and access to the fuselage front-end.
4. Flies w/ rudder, elevator, & flaps.
5. Airfoil = ?? semi-symmetrical with a relatively sharp leading edge.
6. Stabilizer fairly high aspect, and very thin symmetrical airfoil.
What I was told-
Manufactured on the Central Coast of California, possibly Santa Maria. Evidently wings were prone to failure during launch, hence previous owner added multiple carbon tow strips to underside of wings. Fuselage had no front access, wings saddle only.
Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated.
