JR variometer

I am trying to set up a JR variometer.
Am using a JR 28X transmitter but I assume the setup is similar for all
JR transmitters with telemetry.

Not sure what the "Pitch" setting means.

If any one is using this could you help me with suggestions for
settings.

thanks

That is a 28X enhancement that doesn’t appear on the XG11. On the XG11 there are four selectable sounds for rising air that have the same frequency or pitch. The first sound is a series of single beeps to which you can assign a rate. The second is a series of double beeps etc. I would assume the Pitch setting on your 28X refers to the sound as well. Down air has a single lower pitch sound. The kind of sounds or alarms is a function of the transmitter.

I haven’t had a chance to try my vario out in the field yet. I expect it will take some experimenting to determine what rates I want the alarm to go off at.

Thanks. I will experiment and see what I can learn. It is in a model now.
