Mini Floh (AIL)....how is it?

hey i am thinking of getting a mini floh, i am wondering how durable it is and if it flies well for the money. i tend to think that the fuselage might be weak......is that right, thanks in advance!!!

RE: Mini Floh (AIL)....how is it?

I have a Mini-Floh w/ailerons. Std speed 400 with 7 cell AE pack. It is quick and I like the airfoil. I have thermaled it once from ~200ft. for 10 min. Most of the time is spent making the slimers(fuel guys) mad by doing aerobatics in my "glider". I usually buzz around for 5 min. at low level, then climb a couple of times and glide down. It is not a slow plane. Spoilerons help a little on landing but generally land hot and slide a while. Make sure the pushrods are glued all the way down the fuse. HS-55s are too fat for the wing.

Overall I like it ok. I had to make my own V-tail horns though because theirs were junk and the surfaces a little short.

i have a mini floh and i think it's a great glider. i've used it on the slope (NCAR) and for thermal searching via high start--i've been able to spec it out from a high start at the Violet field several times. since i am moving into larger gliders i'll sell you mine minus battery and receiver, but with the servoes (2 HS-55's and 1 HS-50). if interested let me know--reply here i guess. it looks like you're close to me, i am in Boulder and could bring it to NCAR or powerlines for you to check out...

it's never been crashed hard. it does have some minor (repaired) leading edge damage from a small rock at ncar...can't tell now except the covering. you'd need to get some servo arm fairings, a battery, and receiver. i'll try and post a photo: the smaller glider is the nano floh the larger the mini floh. post something here: http://groups.msn.com/SlopeBoulder if you want to meet at NCAR or the Powerlines to check it out.

i love the nano floh! it is quick and very aerobatic. as you can see from the photos i recovered mine with colors that are easier to differentiate top from bottom. i also converted it to a v-tail from a regular tail. it's a great micro slope glider. this glider is also for sale since i am downsizing my fleet...

Guys, it's fine that this opportunity came up like it did to post that these gliders were for sale but let's keep ANY replies, like saint152's. about the sale deals restricted to PM's please. By rights we aren't supposed to be posting dealings like this outside of the marketplace but I understand how situations like this can come up now and then. But rather than turn this thread into a series of sales posts just use PM's to reach Whipper-Snapper instead.

Thanks
