Thermal sensors

Does anyone make thermal sensors? I used to have one and it worked well.
Thanks

What kind of thermal sensors do you mean? Like, temperature sensors?

RE: Thermal sensors

No, It was a plastic tube with electronics( a transmitter and something that sensed air pressure change inside of it.) It went in the aircraft. The pilot had a receiver on his belt and an ear piece. If the plane went higher the tone went higher if it went lower the tone went lower. With a little practice it was an invaluable tool. Especially on very high flights were you can barely see your plane, you could control it's rate of descent just by listening to the tone. I thought for sure they still used them but greatly improved.

There are several out there but this is the one I have had a (little) experience with.

I saw an Ace Thermic Sniffler on the EEB and snagged it. Its old school but was a lot cheaper than I could buy a modern one for. Kind of looking forward to playing with it.

Old school is not always bad. The newer one does way more then we need. And the cost OUCH!

yup on the cost,
the newer ones are MUCH smaller and lighter. my Ace thermic sniffler arived today looks like it was never used. now i need to finish that glider and play with it.

I did a search for Ace thermic sniffler . Nothing found. Were can I get one?

I think they sell under the name of remote sonic vertical accelerometer...
