Approximaty 15-20 minutes with a Gambler+. It was getting so high, I had to do some steep dives to get her back down. It was both gratifying and terrifying at the same time. Once it was back on earth, I quickly left the field with a huge grin. :D

Are you looking for the longest thermal flight times or the longest flights that never get higher than the launch?

The point being that on a thermal rich day it may be up until the battery pack is ready to fail. On a day that has no thermals the model's REAL performance matters.

don't care the day because there are old pilots and there are bold pilots but by the time they are bold pilots become old pilots they are to slow to become told pilots what i am saying is a good pilot can make any plane fly well

If there's no lift, no one can make a glider climb.

good point but you don't get crap days all the time so still just the longest time

Longest DLG flight so far is about 28 minutes. I only started DLGs about 3 weeks ago though I have flown RC sailplanes since the late 70's. Model was a Photon II.

Yep, I resisted the DLG urge for years. I confess, I was a wingspan snob, had to have more wing area and thought the "tiny" gliders would not interest me. A buddy talked me into getting one and I have to admit I am having a blast!!!!:D Already got a NIB Blaster ready to go next. I can safely say I am addicted to DLG now! LOL

I want to get into DLGs, but am looking for plans. Want a small glider that can stand up to strong wind conditions and has at least rudder elevator flaps or ailerons... Any ideas

Maybe something like a Skeeter or Climaxx? I have a friend that them and has excellent flights with them. Both are kits or can be built from plans. There are a lot of cheap kits and plans out there.

could you post plans or links to plans? Thanx!

I have had a couple of 40 minute flights in the last couple of months. The only real reason I had to come down was battery life. Some of you guys have really broad definitions for a dlg. Most of the hard core DLG guys have 7-10 oz planes aimed at thermal efficiency. So when you say you want one that is good in high wind it sounds to me like you want some sort of hybrid dlg. I live in an area the has pretty steady 7-15 mph wind for most of the year.I fly with a lighthawk from rcbuilder.com that is ballasted up from 8 oz to 10oz. When I fly I am looking for thermals even in high wind.If you want to find a lot more info on dlg then visit the hand launch forum on rcgroups.com.For you guys who want to get into dlg the two planes to look at are the sidewinder2 from polecat aeroworks or the quick flick 2 for a kit r/e plane. It does not seem like there are a lot of dlg guys on this forum? If any of you guys are in the San Francisco bay area on the 7th of sept we are doing a fun fly / contest.Info is here.
