newbie with new charger question
I just got my first good charger and have a few questions.
Iwas using my e-sky balance charger but it was taking too long, and it only toldyou if the battery was charging or charged.
I now have a thunder AC6 that isprogrammable.
My big battery is a NRG3S 2200 mah 45C lipo and it said it can be charged at 5C.
What Amps canI use to saftely charge this battery?
Is there a formula to determine the highest safe amps to charge at?
I would rather charge a little longer and have the battery last longer.
Not in any rush.
Any suggestions
Thanks

The battery can, according to your post, be charged at 5C. That means 5 times the capacity of the battery. So, 2200mah times 5 equals 11,000mah. This comes out to 11 Amps. The Charger can do a max of 4.5 AMPs with a 3S battery and cannot go up to 11 AMPs.
The lower the charge rate, the longer the battery "should" last. Generally, 0.5C charge rate (1.1 AMPs for your battery) is easy on batteries but would take over 2 hours.
In any case make sure to connect the balance plug(s) when charging.

2.2 amps for a 2200 mah battery. Make sure the charger is set to the balance mode.
