Default Teach me about heli motors, please

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ter_Motor.html < fixed link

I ordered two of these for project I'll be working on. What is the distance between mounting bolt centers? Same as a typical brushless car motor I hope.

Also what size is this considered? 450, 500?

One more question, can you rotate them in reverse?

I know nothing about heli motors (except they're outrunners) so any help would be appreciated.

I dont have time to look at the links but if they dont list the specs there you're out of luck unless someone has one.

Yes any brushless motor can turn in either direction, just reverse any two wires from the ESC to the motor.

The link comes up as "page not found". If you can fing it again, you should re-enter it so that we can see what you have.

I know enough about electrics to get me in trouble... so take this with a grain of salt. I'm sure more knowledgeable people will jump in shortly....

Based on the rated voltage (22.2v / 6S), I'd venture to say that the motor is more suited for a 550 or a 600 size helicopter. Can you reverse the rotation? Yes, there are two ways of doing it. You either program the ESC, or swap out 2 of the 3 cables providing power to the motor. And last, I would expect the bolt pattern to be similar to similarly sized motors. As far as I know, there is no standarization here. Different sized motors have different bolt patterns.

I hope I helped a bit.
