Default first try at lift off

Hi. I'm a beginner. Tried getting used to controls and lifted helicopter just barely enough to take weight off landinggear but not airborn. It started going backward and since it was in garage there is now wind. How do I deal with that? Thank you.

you need to make sure your swash plate is level at low, mid and high on the left stick if using a mode 2 remote

Helicopters have a "ground effect" and tend to do strange things when below knee height because they get caught in their own wind thats bouncing back off the ground. You could also try adjusting the elevator trim.

Its normal. The heli will never hover still. Generally, they tend to drift to the left becuase of the tail. You counter it by using small movements on the right stick.

Hi Siska,
There are separate aspects which are required to be learned properly before you can comfortable fly a heli. It is likely best if you are rookie to go with a fixed heli so that you can understand the basic controls before going full bore into the big boy RC helis.

These are the Pitch Controls for most Helis that you may need to comprehend first:

[*]Side to side cyclic pitch[*]Collective pitch[*]Tail rotor pitch[*]Fore and aft cyclic pitch[/list]
