Default Heli Transmitters

Is there a good "universal" transmitter that will work with different name brands of helicopters? I know that the spectrum DS6I will work with e-flight brand helicopters but will it work for a Novus helicopter also. The reason I ask is that I have both brands and would like to find just one good quality transmitter.
Thanks!

2.4 for the most part isnt cross compatable.

IN GENERAL
If its sold by Horizon/Parkzone/E-Flite then its going to be compatable with Spektrum/JR stuff.

If its sold by Helimax/Great Planes/Futaba then its going to be compatable with the Futaba stuff.

I like the Futaba 9C. Best trans I have used. I like it better than the new ones too.
