CX2 Transmitter malfunction?

CX2 Transmitter malfunction?

There is no response/communication with receiver and I have tried to rebind the radio & heli without success. I notice the red light on radio blinks once & doesn't stay lit...even in bind mode. Not as described in manual. This was not the case the first couple times, when I turned the radio on, the light remained lit. As far as I can tell, the receiver lights up as it should per manual & with the bind plug inserted. Also the batteries are good (6.3v) in the radio. I would appreciate any insight from somebody. Thanks.

And you are plugging in the bind plug, then turning the receiver on FIRST, then being sure to hold up the trainer switch on the transmitter ?(DX5)?and then turning the tx on while holding the trainer switch up? Then turn of the receiver, then the transmitter? Then turn the tx back on then the receiver on?
