Hey, I am new to this forum and I just got my Walkera V450D03 rc collective pitch helicopter and I am too scared to fly it. I have only used those little copters that they sell in toy stores. So how should I fly it for the first time without breaking it? And are there any free simulators I can download? I also got training landing gear if that helps.

I got a simulator off eBay once for $20 was real Cheesy graphics but it would help with basic flight. I would use your training gear over a smooth surface if you could cause grass will flip you over. I used my garage floor. You will want to practice just getting about a foot off ground not to high and try to hover in all directions once you get that down then you can start on flying circles. Remember small steps it takes time most people crash because they think they can take off and start flying around the first day, than someone yells out how high can it go than you crash and give up on hobby altogether.helicopters are lots of fun but they do require a lot of tingering to get them dialed in just right. It took me a few months I think to fly big circle patterns like I did with airplanes, now I think my helicopters are easier to fly than an airplane it just what you get used to. Good luck to you!!

My first flight today! My blades hit the ground and broke my training gear but It was easier to fly without them. I learned to hover but I am not very good at moving around. I found a free simulator but I don't know how to use my Devo 7 with it. I have Windows 8. Could someone help me?
