Default GY401..switching from HH to normal with TX in flight

How do I do this? I've got a JR Venture 30 with a GY401 and am using a JR XP6102. A freind at work has a Raptor 50, GY401, with a Futaba radio and switches from normal mode to HH all the time in flight, unfortunately he's out of town until early october. Any help greatly appreciated.

Have you got the manual?

It explains it there. If not, i believe you can download it at www.futabarc.com.

Basically you need a two position switch. Set up the ATV so that at one switch position you are in HH mode and the other position your are in rate mode. The ATV is then adjusted at each extreme to set the gain.

Go to [link=http://www.raptortechnique.com]Raptor Technique[/link] he's got a whole page dedicated to HH and non HH gyro setup specific to the different radios. Most of the stuff he talks about there can be adapted to any setup using the 401. The manual that Futaba puts out is a joke. Its like reading a version of the cartoons where the mouths moved in Japanese and the overdub spoke english.

I'm not sure how the JR radio is set-up, but even though I have my Futaba set up to switch between HH and normal mode, I always fly in HH. It flys so well in HH, in all flight modes, that I never use the normal mode. Just my 2-cents.

Thanks guys! I also prefer HH but just wanted the option if needed. Got it figured out after checking Raptor techniques website....which has to be one the best heli sites I've come across so far.[8D]

Just make sure you got the gains set right in either way so you don't switch it and accidentally have a surprise you're not ready for...
