Default Wont take off!!

I've got a problem with my shuttle helicopter, it wont take off!!

when i increase the elevator, the blades just move forwards, as though it's gonna fly forwards, not up.
when switched off, it's just the paddle blades that move when i move the elevator, is this correct?

i've checked all the servo wires and they seem correct.
any ideas?

You're kidding, right? [X(] The "elevator" control on a heli determines front to back tilt on the heli. It has nothing at all to do with lift. I recommend that you do some reading on what helicopter controls do before trying to fly one. Even better, get a computer simulation. At least that way, you won't lose your heli on your first mistake.

up and down on the left stick is lift and drop. left and right point the nose in desired direction. right stick is for moving the heli left right forward and back. you have to forget about airplanes for this process. and i agree about the sim. it may cost what your entry level heli did,but you can crash it all day long and it wont cost you an extra penny. not to mention you get to play with every type of heli made includinga nice 60 size3d vigor. yea?

It sounds to me like your pitch curves are not set correctly on your radio - I would recommend setting the pitch curves at mid-stick throttle (this is your left stick), you should be 0 pitch - at full throttle, you should be at about 9 degrees pitch, and I would be careful with putting to much negative pitch at low throttle position because the tendancy for new pilots is when something starts to go wrong, they try to pull the throttle stick all the way down - if you have it set at 6-7degrees negative pitch, you will drive the landing gear and the bottom end of the heli hard into the ground. If you don't know how to set this, refer to your radio manual - it usually gives some recommended settings for this!
