Default HONEYBEE CP2 (E005)-FUTABA 9CHP

Hi all,

Fairly new to this hobby and really need some help. Recently I bought an Esky CP2 (E005). Thinking that the stock Tx that comes with the heli wasn't so impressive, so I bought Futaba 9chp. Now the problem arise. I found it very difficult to do the setup with my Esky CP2. The manual that comes with the Tx doesn't really help.

Thanks for the help in advance!

All you need to do is make sure your tx and rx is on the same channel. The stock esky stuffs will do just fine.

You need to choose 120 ccpm swash.
Make sure your swash is moving correctly. Reverse channels as needed. The manual should tell you how to do this. Search the forum there is a thread on how to setup esky cp with hitec radios. Then if you have questions post here, I should be able to answer you.

I can't get my 9C to control my throttle on my Honeybee FP. The cyclic channels had to be reversed but not response from the throttle. Any suggestions?

How many channels was the original TX. If only 4 then the pitch and throttle might have been Y'd together. Do you have anything plugged into channel 3 of the RX?

Also on initial setup, be careful with the throttle channel. It may be reversed in the TX and sometimes the ESC needs to be activated via a programmed stick motion (ie full off, full on, to full off). Your ESC may not "wake up" until it sees this stick action. Also if the TX throttle is reversed, the ESC would see this stick motion backwards (ie full on, full off, full on) which will either never activate the ESC or it's gonna surprise the heck out of you when the motor goes full throttle at low stick. Take all necessary precautions when first setting the TX and heli up.

Good Luck,
d.tipton

Why on earth would you buy a 9CHP for a CP2 lol. You might as well upgrade helicopters if your going to drop that coin on the transmitter.

Tippy,

You were correct about the throttle channel needing to be reversed. That solved the problem. I've also adjusted the throttle curve and added revo. Thanks for the info. I'll see what else I can manage to play around with. And to answer Inverted's question about having a 9C. I have several transmitters for my other planes. My Eclipse 7 was my primary radio until it filled up so I picked up the 9C a few years back very cheaply on ebay for about $125 and upgraded the memory to 32 planes for another $35. Talk about making the HB easy to fly! I'm hooked and love the 9C.
