RE: Falcon 3D Tail Problem
Grats Dzaken!!
I am glad you are up and flying again. We get Very frustrating and sometimes hard to diagnose problems with Real Helicopters all the time as well. I am glad you were able to get through this and did not give up. A positive attitude certainly helps. Good Job!

RE: Falcon 3D Tail Problem
Great news. I've had my own issues with the Falcon that the posters here and persistance have solved.
Here's something you might find usefull if you use the arrow shafts for tail booms;
quote:
I am having some problems with the tail gearbox. After replacing the boom with arrow shaft I'm having problems keeping it positions. no matter how much I try to tighten the set screw on the gearbox it seams to move causing the tail gear to slip during flight.
I had the same prob. the arrow shafts are beefier than the stock booms. You can't depend on the plastic screw holes to offer enough resistance to get a good "bite" on the shaft. Tape is not enough. You can try one of two methods that worked for me.
After aligning the gears, mark the boom through the threaded plastic screw hole on the gearbox and boom mount (or lightly drill without hogging out your threads). Then remove the gear box ( so you don't damage the threads ) and drill the mark just to make an indentation. Put your gearbox back in place and insert the screw.
I've also had luck biting into the shaft by applying lots of pressure just behind the boom opposite the "fixing" screw and really cranking on the screwdriver ( don't stab yourself ). Give it a good twist test.
A secure tail will save you a lot of money.
