yes you can my advice would be if you get a lipo just make sure you keep it 9.6 or 9.4 what ever your heli is you can change the miliamps(650mah,1000mah)for the (mah)is what determens flight time.the 9.6 or 11.1 is the size say like a (d) or (aaa) like that just make sure to keep same voltage (mah) is preferance and stamina and you`ll need a lipo charger for the nicad charges in a differnt rate
